1. BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO ABSTRACT ART
Abstract art uses a visual language (is a set of practices by which images can be used to communicate concepts) of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.

Abstraction in art
Definition:
- art unconcerned with the literal depiction of things from the visible world
- it can, however, refer to an object or image which has been distilled from the real world, or indeed, another work of art
- abstract – artwork that reshapes the natural world for expressive purposes
Geometric abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric forms sometimes, though not always, placed in non-illusionisticnon space and combined into non-objective (non-representational) compositions.
Lyrical Abstraction is opposed to geometric abstraction.
